The workshop was an important physical complement to my installation at the Helmhaus Zurich. The focus was on movement and physical experience as a means of exploring the conditions for a social space of trust. Together with choreographer Androniki Marathaki, who had already accompanied me during my research in Greece in 2024, we developed a setting dedicated to the sensuality of pain and its relationship to the body and movement. 

Under Marathaki's guidance, we searched within and with our bodies for the places where pain is stored, defined them, and examined their effects and potential – both in individual perception and in a social context.

The workshops took place after official opening hours in the protected environment of the Helmhaus, thus creating an intimate setting in which memory, physicality and language could be interwoven.

For me, they also provided a reflective space in which to examine and continue my experiences gained in Greece in a different cultural context. My visual mind map on the theme of memory – trauma – language – reconciliation, which was installed as a large-scale wall drawing in the stairwell of the Helmhaus, served as a thread, score, archive and substrate.
