Transform is an interdisciplinary, consistently experimental art festival that has been held annually since 2011 for a limited period of time in vacant spaces or public places in Bern. Artists from various fields and disciplines were invited to work with space and the public in an experimental approach. 

In 2016, Transform took place in the Holligen district, a working-class neighbourhood. The artists were assigned to a local bar or shop for a week to work with the people and the situation they found there during that time. I was assigned to the AS bar. The hospitality and warmth, as well as the community among the regulars, made me develop a great respect for the landlord, Hisen Asami, and his employees. This gave rise to the idea and thus the performance of presenting him with the Golden Peperoni – the trophy for outstanding achievements and warmth in the Holligen neighbourhood. During the tour at the end of the week, I presented him with the trophy in front of a gathered audience with a grand laudatory speech. The Golden Peperoni has been part of the Bar AS inventory ever since.
