Three dancers dressed in colourful coats and skirts move around the empty hull of a ferry. Words in Greek, English and Russian can be seen on their costumes. The dancers repeatedly form new combinations, attempting to establish a relationship between themselves, their bodies, the written words and their fellow performers.
In terms of content, this aesthetic-visual performance revolves around the linguistic struggle in the process of translation. Greek, Russian, English – three languages into which the manifesto of freedom of action has been translated. Freedom must be translated differently in every linguistic and cultural context; it behaves differently, acts differently, appears differently. Translating means thinking about differences, not taking them for granted or considering them immutable, but working on them and seeing them from both the inside and the outside. The performance refers to this linguistic struggle within and between cultural and linguistic spaces of experience and the inherent potential for misunderstanding.
The ferry as a symbol of an intermediate stage (in transition). An "in-between", between time, change, transition, transfer, translation.
