"Mr Eckinger was the managing director of the small company that was based here in Villa Renata for several decades. Eckinger not only spent many hours here in the building on weekdays. After furnishing the basement rooms with billiard and bistro tables, painting the walls in a matching felt green colour and having Art Deco-style lampshades made, he organised legendary game evenings here with beautiful regularity. From then on, this room was called the Salon Vert.

Olivia Wiederkehr takes this story as the starting point for her work. The LED frame in the dimensions of a billiard table, standing on the freshly scrubbed wooden floor, echoes the narrative of the peeling paint on the walls and sheds light on the past of the Salon Vert. It raises the question of whether we always accurately reproduce what we think we remember. Or whether we can also erase memories from the memory of a room by scrubbing a wooden floor? Mr Eckinger would have liked that."
