Wie klingt ein intimer Raum? Der intime Raum als sonore Hülle, ein Ort der Stille, dessen sensible Konstruktion sich offenbart in der nuancierten Kontrolle der häuslichen Geräuschkulisse und ihrer ultimativen Störung. Ein Balanceakt zwischen Behaglichkeit und Unterbrechung. Anhand eines wissenschaftlichen Textes von Brandon Labelle (Acoustic Territories) erarbeitete der Musiker und Komponist Thomas Peter mit Hilfe von Fieldrecordings ein Archiv des Intimen, der Stille. Die bildende Künstlerin und Performerin Olivia Wiederkehr beschäftigt sich in ihrer Arbeit mit der Fragilität der Räume, die uns täglich umgeben. Sie erarbeitete ebenfalls ein visuelles Archiv in Bezug auf den intimen Raum. Während der Performance stellten beide Künstler ihre Archive in einem szenografischen Setting einander gegenüber. Es entstanden visuelle, wie akustische Loops: Mal umkreisten sich diese, mal verdichteten sie sich, oder führten systematisch aneinander vorbei. Der gesetzten Thematik eigen ist die Fragilität, in der sich die Möglichkeit der raschen Interruption ergeben kann: ein kleiner Moment kann die Intimität, die Stille stören oder gar aufheben.

What does an intimate space sound like? The intimate space as a sonorous shell, a place of silence whose sensitive construction is revealed in the nuanced control of the domestic soundscape and its ultimate disturbance. A balancing act between comfort and disruption. Based on a scientific text by Brandon Labelle (Acoustic Territories), the musician and composer Thomas Peter created an archive of the intimate, of silence, with the help of field recordings. The visual artist and performer Olivia Wiederkehr deals in her work with the fragility of the spaces that surround us every day. She also elaborated a visual archive in relation to intimate space. During the performance, both artists juxtaposed their archives in a scenographic setting. Visual as well as acoustic loops were created: Sometimes they circled around each other, sometimes they condensed, or systematically led past each other. Inherent in the set theme is the fragility in which the possibility of rapid interruption can arise: a small moment can disturb or even annul the intimacy, the silence.

Pinkfarbene Pigmente in einer Linie auf die Strasse leeren. Dann auf einem selbstgebauten Skateboard stehend diese Linie langsam abfahren, gleichzeitig mit einem Pinsel an langem Stiel, die Linie hinter sich verwischen. Dabei nie abstehen, sondern im langsamen Schwung der Musik bleibend, die Bewegungen ebenfalls der Musik angepasst, das Gleichgewicht in Balance halten. Den Strich – die Grenze – fokussieren. Die Grenze – den Strich – verwischen. Das ist das Ziel. Was übrig bleibt, ist die Erinnerung – und die pinkfarbene ephemere Zeichnung im öffentlichen Raum.

Empty pink pigments in a line on the road. Then, standing on a self-made skateboard, slowly skim this line, at the same time blurring the line behind you with a brush on a long handle. Never stand out, but stay in the slow swing of the music, the movements also adapted to the music, keeping the balance. Focus on the line – the border. Blur the border – the line. That is the goal. What remains is the memory – and the pink ephemeral drawing in public space.
